It’s a day full of fun, shopping, and awe-inspiring fireworks! And it’s all in Fairview on Saturday, Nov. 26.
The huge lighted ornaments are back at Sundheim Park! See live reindeer, visit with Santa and enjoy some hot chocolate and a hot dog served up by Explore America all beginning at 5 p.m. The incredible fireworks show starts at 7 p.m. For safety reasons, the Fairview Chamber requests that no one be on the bridge after 6 p.m. Saturday night.
The first Lighting of the Bridge and fireworks show took place the evening of November 20, 2009 when hundreds of people flocked to Sundheim Park to take in the show sponsored by the Fairview Chamber of Commerce as part of their Silver Bells celebration. The event was organized in 2008 but because of weather conditions, it was pushed off a year. The first event had 15 huge lighted Christmas ornaments spanning across the bridge, but a lack of electricity made this a bit tricky. The decorations were subsequently moved down into the park but the fireworks, shot off by Paulson Fireworks out of Watford City, remained on the bridge.
The lighting of the bridge is commemorated in the first of a series of collectible ornaments by Jeremy Dean which will be available at the Silver Bells Craft and Vendor Show.
