Williston, ND - During August’s Park Board meeting, the Park Board Commissioners decided to begin livestreaming their monthly meetings on Facebook. Livestreaming would have begun on Tuesday, Sept. 20. This decision was made to provide more transparency of WPRD dealings and an online option to attend meetings if in-person attendance was unavailable for community members. With much consideration and careful discussion, the Park Board’s September meeting will not be livestreamed on Facebook to maintain meeting streaming security, professionalism, and reliability. In addition, Facebook live limits community access to only Facebook users.
However, beginning in October, Park Board meetings will be available online through GoToMeeting. GoToMeeting was chosen due to their simplified online meeting software technology for hosts and attendees as well the platform’s fast, reliable, and secure video capability. This online video platform provides Williston Parks and Recreation District and the Williston Park Board’s a means to further their initiative of more transparency to the community and to diversify meeting attendance/viewing options.
Interested community members can join the scheduled meetings on the GoToMeeting website or on the GoToMeeting app. Attendees are asked to be muted during the meeting and will be muted if on the agenda. For first-time GoToMeeting users, please visit https://support.goto.com/meeting/new-attendee-guide for assistance. Additional information regarding the Williston Park Board GoToMeeting meetings will be provided to the community in the coming weeks.
