Watford City's Homefest weekend is coming up, which means Watford City's Main Street will be filled with crowds of people July 14-16. The reunion weekend will be filled with several activities including street dances, music, food, vendors, and much more.
"We are looking forward to having everyone come back to Watford City for their family and class reunions. It is always a great time, seeing familiar faces," said Mary Gumke, Watford City Chamber of Commerce director.
Thursday, July 14, 5–8 p.m. the Long X Visitor Center will be hosting its famous Dogs on the Deck event, serving hotdog meals for $6 a plate. This is a family-friendly BBQ event that brings the community together to raise funds for local nonprofits. It will also have a beer garden, games, music by Jesse Veeder and fun activities for all ages.
On Friday, July 15, there will be music and food on Main Street starting at 5 p.m. and a Missoula Children's Theater performance starting at 7 p.m. at the Watford City Intermediate school, followed by a street dance with music from the Cody Charles Band, and all-day crazy sales at businesses all over town.
Saturday, July 16, will kick off with a Homefest Run/Walk 5K at 9:30 a.m. at the Rough Rider Center (check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.), Missoula Children's Theater Performance at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. Homefest Baby Pageant, Co-ed Mud Volleyball at the Tourist Park at 11:30 a.m. Trish Gravos Memorial Golf Outing at Fox Hills Golf Course, art and vendors at 1st International Bank and Trust from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. followed by a cornhole tournament on Main Street at 3 p.m., then at 6:30 p.m. there will be a Little Shop of Horrors play put on by the Watford City High School Theater group, a Redneck Pub Crawl from 5–8 p.m. at the Long X Liquor Store, and a street dance at 8 p.m. with music provided by the Sugar Break Band.
All-day Saturday the Pioneer Museum will have 10¢ sundaes.
