Donna "Trudy" Nevins, 81, Sidney, MT

Funeral services for Donna "Trudy" Nevins, 81 of Sidney are at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Sidney, with Pastor David Huskamp officiating. Interment will be in the Newlon Cemetery, rural Sidney, MT under the care of the Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home of Sidney. Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, 2022, from Noon to 5 PM at the funeral home and one hour before services at the church. Donna "Trudy" Nevins was born on May 29, 1941, to Frank and Anna "Bun" West in Sidney, MT. She grew up in Whitefish with her siblings, Robert "Bob", Betty, and Ruth "Toofty". While living in Whitefish she became close friends with many of the neighborhood girls and caused a lot of mischief. Still to this day they would meet for a neighborhood girl get away. Her favorite job in high school was as a car hop for Gordies in Whitefish. There she enjoyed roller skating and socializing with all the customers. Trudy graduated from Whitefish in 1960. She moved to Sidney, MT, where she decided to plant her roots. Trudy worked various jobs but loved working at Woolworths and the In Step in Sidney. She met the love of her life, Orlo Nevins and was united in marriage on December 16, 1967. They lived on the Nevins homestead west of Sidney where they raised their children Tommy Jo, Tammy, Chuck, and Matt. She was a 4-H leader of the 3 Buttes 4-H club and was the 4-H food booth manager for 15 years. Her favorite event in Richland County was the Richland County Fair and Rodeo. She would spend endless days enjoying the food and visiting with the community. She looked forward to going to the rodeo every year with her dear friend, Robert Whiteman.

Trudy was an active member of the 3 Buttes Community and enjoyed the potlucks at the old schoolhouse. Trudy served on the Richland Opportunities, Inc. board as a director from 1985-1991. She was also a Moose member from 1994-2022.

Trudy's whole life revolved around her family and the many friends and neighbors who called her "Grandma" or "Mom". You would find Trudy supporting each of them at many t-ball games, baseball games, football games, wrestling, traveling basketball tournaments, music concerts, soccer games, and many other activities they all participated in. No matter what activity she was at you could pick her out of the crowd by her white hair. The main highlight of her summers was to watch her grandkids show their 4-H livestock at the Richland County Fair. When Trudy wasn't chasing her grandkids, she was busy with her other favorite activities such as shopping, traveling around the country, going to the NFR with Sandy, and just driving to get parts for her sons. She was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone.

Trudy passed away after a long battle with cancer at the Sidney Health Center on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

She is survived by: her three sons, Tommy Jo Nevins, Charles (Heather) Nevins, and Matthew (Lacey) Nevins; a daughter, Tammy (Ron) Kunda all of Sidney, MT; a brother, Robert (Susie) West, Columbia Falls, MT; two sisters, Betty (Bob) Rabidue, Wilson Creek, WA, and Ruth (George) Crabtree, Plains, MT; grandkids, Brian (Elizabeth) Kunda, Jake and Frank Kunda, Kolton and CJ Nevins, Taylor and Trey Schepens, and Tucker Nevins all of Sidney, MT; great grandkids, Brightin and Brett Kunda; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and many extended "grandkids", "sons" and "daughters".

Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Orlo Nevins; and parents, Frank and Anna "Bun" West.
