Big Sky State Ice Hockey Games Come To Sidney, March 18-20

Montana's Big Sky State Ice Hockey Games will take place at Richland Ranger Arena, Sidney from March 18-20.

Teams of 4 to 8 players are able to register before March 7, with a registration fee of $400/team. Age groups eligible to play include mites, squirts, peewee, bantam, and high school. Participants must be a resident of Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wyoming.

The event guarantees a minimum of 3 Games or Round Robin. Each game is 25 minutes long (running clock) and will be played on cross-ice. Brackets are available at bigskygames.org/sports/icehockey/.

"It is really fast paced, we had over 100 games in a weekend last year, so there is a lot of hockey going on," said Montana's Big Sky State Games Hockey Commissioner, Dawn Rehbein,

Several volunteers contribute to making the event a success. "We want to thank all of our volunteers. We could not put this on without my club and everyone signing up to take shifts and volunteering to take concession stands."

When registering teams, every player must provide their USA Hockey Card prior to the tournament -USA Hockey registration is available at http://www.usahockey.com.

The 2022 Big Sky State Games Open Hockey Tournament follows the age divisions and rules set by the North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association.

"I am really excited to bring all of these teams back to Sidney and to have another weekend of Hockey. COVID-19 restrictions are more relaxed this year so this schedule will be a little different from last year," added Rehbein.

The Richland Ranger Arena will also be hosting the North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association (NDAHA) Bantam B Silver State Tournament March 11-13.

The Big Sky State Games is set to host a girls' Ice Hockey Tournament in Billings April 22-24. Teams can register now until April 4 for $400/team.
