Holiday Giving Gala Set, Dec.11, Watford City

The Pioneer Museum of McKenzie County, Long X Liquor Store, and Long X Arts Foundation is looking to give back to the community this holiday season with a Giving Gala at the Long X Visitor Center, Watford City, 6:30-10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11.

“Our main effort is to provide an enjoyable evening for the community, bring everyone together and provide a chance to “give back,” Long X Pioneer Museum Director Jan Dodge said.

This semiformal event will have valet parking, tons of dancing, live holiday music by Mick Soiseth and Lane Sandstrom, appetizers by local restaurants and beer and wine tastings by Long X Liquor, plus a fun silent auction with one-of-a-kind items.

Tickets are $35 for one individual and $65 for a couple; tickets can be purchased on http://www.eventbrite.com.

This Holiday Giving Gala is all about giving back to the community. The profits from the ticket sales go directly to a McKenzie County non-profit organization. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for one of the three non-profit groups: McKenzie County Veterans Memorial Park - Phase 3, McKenzie County Food Pantry or Watford City Parks and Recreation Scholarship program.

Everyone is welcome to attend. “I am excited to have everyone come out to showcase that we really are a close-knit community. We are trying to get the community involved so people have some holiday fun to look forward to,” Long X Liquor Store General Manager LeAnn Brown said.

While at the Long X Visitor Center you will be able to view the variety of exhibits at Pioneer Museum of McKenzie County; included during Christmas is a cultural poster visual exhibition that will showcase the variety of Christmas Traditions Around the World. “It is an opportunity to learn about what other people do to celebrate Christmas,” Dodge added

The facility will also have a variety of unique gift options available for purchase. The Museum supports local entrepreneurs by selling their products at their gift shop. They also carry a variety of Christmas gift boxes, baskets, and items perfect for stocking stuffers and gifts.
