Sidney’s new Butler Ag Equipment shop has been up and running as of Nov. 1. The facility is located at the former B&B Rentals location, 34940 MT-23, near the intersection of MT-16 and MT-23. It is the company’s first store in Montana and 20th location throughout the Midwest.
“So far it has been great! We have been getting a lot of positive feedback from the locals, along with our customers, “Butler Machinery Company Service Manager Colton Carlin said.
The company offers a full line of AGCO equipment brands, select CLAAS equipment and other smaller ag-focused lines, as well as ag technology, parts and service. They represent many manufacturers including Caterpillar, AGCO, CLAAS, Drago, Horsch, Killbros, Balzer, Sullair, Metso, Mesaba, Trail King and more.
Carlin says they have had quite a few customers coming in to get parts and discuss winter work. He said, “We are hoping to build long-term relationships, founded on trust, creating mutual growth and success.”
“We are open! Come down and take a look at the store and what we have to offer,” Carlin added.
This expansion has brought many job opportunities to the Sidney area, as well as opportunities for employment and growth throughout the company.
“We are excited to widen our store footprint and growing our team. This new store, and the additional employees will allow us to better serve our customers throughout our whole region,” said Twylah Blotsky, Butler’s new president and CEO.
Blotsky explained that the company decided to move to Sidney after the previous dealer for Sidney quit supplying to that area. She said, “We had an opportunity with our ag suppliers to move over into Montana and we decided that Sidney would be a great location. We are looking forward to becoming a part of the community, growing our products in that space, and having a long presence and career in Montana.”
Since 1955, Butler Machinery Company has been the leader in agriculture and heavy equipment in North Dakota and South Dakota. It is a third-generation, family-owned equipment dealer with 20 locations spanning over North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Montana. According to butlerag.com, the company was founded by Twylah (Butler) Blotsky’s grandfather, Francis J. Butler, in 1955 as a Caterpillar dealer. In 1988 Butler Machinery added to its product offering and started selling agriculture equipment. Butler Ag Equipment, a division of Butler Machinery Company, began in 2013 when the first ag equipment-only store was established in Nebraska.
Blotsky said, “Butler Machinery’s focus is on product support and taking care of the customer after the sale; we have a long history of doing that for our customers. We will bring a different level of support that customers may have not seen before.”
