On Saturday, Sept. 4, the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Bakken Brewfest at Richland County Event Center, Sidney; doors will open at 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 7 p.m. for general admission.
The event will have unlimited beer samples, boozy ice-cream, and live music by Mighty Big Jim.
“I’m pretty excited about our new “boozy ice cream.” Our VIP’s will receive the boozy ice cream free of charge and it’ll be available to the general admission for $5. One of the boozy ice creams is a vanilla, raspberry, and blueberry blend with a Moscato and our other boozy ice cream is double stout ice cream with notes of caramel,” said Kali Godfrey Executive Director of the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event will also have an array of food trucks including Jer Bears Sno Shack, Jeab’s Thai Food, Baby K’s Bar-B-Q and Coast to Coast. There will also be around 20 brewers, representing Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Minnesota.
“Traditionally, the Brewfest is held around Easter, but due to the restrictions with COVID earlier this year, we needed to move Brewfest to one of the only remaining available dates for the Event Center. Labor Day weekend is a bit of a risk, but I’m hoping with an extra day for attendees to recover, it’ll still be a great time. This year we’ve lowered the ticket prices and added a cash food truck court. We’ll also be featuring live music by Mighty Big Jim out of Wibaux, MT.
The event serves as the Chamber’s largest fundraiser – it allows the Chamber to keep membership costs at a level that is affordable to most businesses. It also helps provide the funding for some of the projects they do around town and gives them funds for providing a grant match and draws tourists in from all over.
General Admission tickets are $30 and VIP tickets are $50. For more information and/or to purchase a ticket, visit the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce website at sidneymt.com/news-events/bakken-brew-fest-1.
