The Roosevelt Memorial Healthcare Foundation is a go-for-launch for this year’s version of the annual Fall Fest fundraiser. The “Over the Moon” Gala will take place on Oct. 9, at the Dry Prairie Rural Water Authority, Culbertson.
This year’s theme is “Over the Moon” and it is going to be out of this world, literally! That’s because attendees will embark on a flight destined for the lunar surface to enjoy an evening among the stars. At least it will look that way. Don’t worry; there will be plenty of gravity and more importantly, plenty of heat to keep everyone warm on the moon’s chilly surface!
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served to guests at 6:30 p.m.
The futuristic fundraiser will include hors d’oeuvres, a steak dinner with all the trimmings and the chance to win $1,000. Other prizes include a Traeger grill, artwork, gift cards and tickets to area entertainment while taking part in raffles, and both a silent and live auction.
The evening will conclude with a Meteor Shower Raffle with glowing raffle tickets dropping from an aircraft flying overhead.
The Foundation will also announce its Philanthropists of the Year with a special presentation.
This year’s entertainment will include local community members such as Darcia Larsen, Ashlee Anderson, Elizabeth Hendrickson and Roosevelt Medical Center’s very own Lunar Ladies and Moon Men. The show has been rated ‘Best Performance’ this side of Jupiter!
Tickets will cost $50 and be available beginning Aug. 2. Tickets will also be available at the door, but can be purchased at First Community Bank, the Wild West Diner and in the RMC lobby. Foundation members encourage those planning to attend to buy their tickets before they arrive at the event to assist with food planning.
Earthlings and interstellar beings are welcome and encouraged to dress formally but to include accessories like alien masks, glasses, or wigs, to name a few that represent their home planets and star systems. Of course, casual attire is perfectly acceptable too! Remember, those traveling from outside the Milky Way Galaxy will be screened for radiation.
The Foundation will be raising money to support Roosevelt Medical Center, Culbertson, by replacing long-outdated commercial kitchen appliances. At the top of the needs list are a new stovetop, convection oven and steamer. They also need to replace cabinets and old Formica countertops for solid services that are easier to clean.
“For many of our residents, mealtime is one of the highlights of the day. Attending the “Over the Moon” Gala will help ensure mealtime at RMC is a special time for residents to gather and eat among friends and family,” said Jaimee Green, RMC marketing and foundation director.
Importantly, all proceeds stay locally on Earth, more specifically, our community!
Since the first annual Fall Fest Fundraiser began in 2015, it has enabled the lab to purchase needed diagnostic equipment and paid for the installation of new facility flooring throughout the building and the installation of a patient’s call light system.
