On Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11 enjoy family fun at the 2021 Buffalo Trails Day event in Epping, ND.
On Saturday, July 10 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., enjoy the new edition to Buffalo Trails Day with a 3-on-3-basketball tournament for youth. For more information on this event contact Luanne Axelson, 701-210-0978. There will be food and craft vendors at the Pavilion on Main Street during the day. Also going on July 10 the VFW Post 12169 will be holding a Cornhole Tourney, 1 p.m. at Epping Eagles Nest. Register your team with Eagles Nest, $50 per team, six places paid out. Balderdash will be playing, 8 p.m. to midnight at the Epping Firemen's Dance at the Pavilion on Main Street. There will be a fireworks display, provided by the city of Epping, beginning around 11 p.m., weather permitting.
On Sunday, July 11 start your day with the annual pancake breakfast from 8-10 a.m. at the Pavilion on Main Street with proceeds going to the Buffalo Trails Museum. At 10:30 a.m. there will be Epping Lutheran Services with Pastor Mary Dickman Parris and special guests Upper Missouri Bible Camp staff. Craft vendors will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Pavilion on Main Street. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., silent auction donations will be welcome and for more information on the silent auction contact Shelly Alexander, 701-570-7899. The Buffalo Trails Museum will be open for tours from 11 a.m.-noon and 12:30-2 p.m. At noon, the parade will start at the north end of Main Street and Dave Berg will be showing off his new wagon and escorting the retired Epping firemen. From 12:30-1 p.m. the Williston Cowboys Drum & Bugle Corps will provide music in the gazebo. There will be a petting zoo from 1-3 p.m., with the animals provided by Tana Conlin and Tessa Sigvaldsen. From 12:30-3 p.m. there will be wagon rides courtesy of Dave Berg and his pony team along with a Memorial Paul Sagaser Car Show. Starting at 12:30 p.m. a Tug-o-War on Main Street, Epping Fire Department vs. Ray Fire Department and the Epping Fire Department equipment will also be on display on Main Street showing their new upgrades to their fleet. At 1 p.m., there will be a live auction at the Pavilion on Main Street and will feature a huge cowhide and quilt. From 2-2:30 p.m., Parade Best announcements will be made along with basketball tournament winners and a raffle and silent auction will take place. At 3 p.m., the 1st and 2nd place Peoples' Choice winners will be announced.
