This year the 2021 Montana Young Professionals Summit will be held in Sidney June 9-11. This is a statewide event that helps Young Professionals in Montana expand their professional networks and personal development. It provides them with the opportunity to explore the different aspects that make up the United States.
This year the theme is “Where Energy Meets Sustainability; the Land of Oil and Ag”. This will be the first time that the event will be held in eastern Montana. Past host cities include Great Falls, Billings, Butte, and Kalispell.
“Our committee felt it was important to highlight different tours of our region which will be a different experience for attendees. While we will still have personal/professional development breakout sessions and keynote speakers, the tours are going to offer attendees the opportunity to get out of the classroom/office and truly see what makes Richland County successful,” said Katie Dasinger, Sidney Young Professionals president and Richland Economic Development program coordinator.
Dasinger is excited to show off the “amazing community” of Sidney. She said, “It is often said that Sidney has limited opportunity and is not as vibrant as communities in western Montana. But we know that isn’t true, but now we will get to show this truth to others.”
MTYP has a tradition of honoring young professionals from across Montana for the difference they make in their communities. There are four state awards and as the host city, Sidney also gets to have a Sidney-Centric award for one of our local young professionals. Nominations for the awards are free, anyone can nominate, and nominees need to live and work in Montana and be between the ages of 18 and 40. To nominate for a state award, check out their website at http://www.sypsidney.com. To nominate for the Sidney Young Professional of the year, send an email to Dasinger: [email protected] with the name of the nominee and a write up of why they should win.
If you or someone you know is interested in attending, register online at http://www.sypsidney.com.
