Zoe and Friends is back! The annual health and wellness event will once again be hosted by Roosevelt Medical Center to keep community members excited about maintaining their health through a variety of topics in a way that is fun, inspiring and engaging.
The event is taking place on May 20, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Legion Hall, Culbertson.
Zoe Fugere, family nurse practitioner, will present this year's topic and will focus on the many ways stress can affect your overall health and ways to naturally manage it. Those who attend will learn about the mental and physical ways stress impacts the body. Other topics will include the relationship between stress and our sleep, weight, eating habits and substance use.
"Some stress is healthy, but when it persists, it can harm your health. It's important to recognize the impact stress is having on your daily life and develop skills to manage it in a healthy way," said Fugere, FNP.
Attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, fruits and vegetables, and have a chance to win health promoting prizes.
This year's event topic was selected to coincide with recent stress and mental health awareness months and by the public through surveys taken from previous awareness events.
"For many, this past year has been one of monumental stress and uncertainty. There has never been a better time for everyone to learn to manage stress in a way that promotes resiliency and better health," said Fugere, FNP.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jaimee Green, Marketing/Foundation Director, 406-787-6476.
