If you're looking for some fun activities to do with the kiddos this spring, the Rough Rider Center and Wild West Water Park, both in Watford City; Safari Trampoline Park, Williston; Sidney Pool, Sidney have events that'll help curb the boredom. Rough Rider Center, is offering two events, the first is for Mothers' Day. It's Mothers' day paint and plant, it's from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, May 8, all supplies included in the $15 fee. Dads or grandparents grab those kiddos and help personalize something for that special mom in your life. There are two options to choose from, a large teacup or two mini dinosaurs.
The other event at Rough Rider Center is a wind chime glass sun catcher class on Friday, May 7. Glass artist Kathy Mohti is coming to town just in time for warmer weather and she will walk you step by step in creating this beautiful piece of artwork. The tickets are $45, all supplies included, for ages 7 and up. Both of these great crafting events could also be used as Mothers' Day gifts.
Watford City Park and Recreation's indoor pool at the Rough Rider Center is open, but the Wild West Water Park outdoor pool is still closed for the season. The Rough Rider Center offers day passes for $7, which includes: open swim, lap swim/lazy river, court access, and open skate (skate rental is an additional $4). They offer a basic and 3 premium memberships, the first is just a premium membership, second is premium single household membership, and lastly premium household membership for a two-parent household. Hours of operation: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning swim 6-8 a.m., morning swimmers should use gate 10. Monday and Wednesday day hours are 4-5:30 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday 4-7:30 p.m. Saturdays are noon- 7:30 p.m. and Sundays are noon-6 p.m. For information on memberships please call 701-444-7665, they are located at 315 3rd St SE, Watford City.
The Safari Trampoline Park, 3206 26th St. W. Williston, is now open with plenty of goodies to do over the spring and into summer. They offer everything from arcade games and VR games, bumper cars, they also have a drive-in movie theater. Tickets can be bought on site for the drive-in theater and they offer gift cards. The Sidney Svarre Municipal Pool will open up on June 1. Swimming lessons will be weekdays from 9 a.m.- noon. Swimming lesson sign ups will be June 1-4 during open swim. The city is currently looking for lifeguards, office staff and helpers for swimming lessons. Applications are available at Sidney City Hall.
