Bismarck - With the 2021 season right around the corner, the Bucks continue their work to take the team to the next level on and off the field. This season, for the first time in Indoor Football history, a team will report to an off-site location for training camp. The Bucks are making the move to Watford City, April 9, as 40 hopefuls will chase their professional football dreams and fight to earn a position on the Buck's 25-man roster.
The Bucks have raised the bar with latest team additions, coaching staff shifts, and adjustments to their approach on the how-to of constructing a United Bowl Championship caliber franchise. The move to Watford City falls right in line. The team's General Manager, Heidi Ripplinger said "The shift has a lot to do with the community, getting away from distractions, and allowing the players to acclimate themselves to their new teammates and systems".
In just 3 short weeks, the Rough Rider Center will be transformed into a football headquarters. The Rough Rider Center is an extraordinary facility that will provide several practice fields, along with the meeting rooms and training rooms needed to execute a successful camp. The adjoining campus facilities and the ability to extend the use of the Bucks Sanford Strength and Training program partnership provides a much different environment and approach to the Bucks past Training Camps. "Training camp is a grind, and we'll be evaluating each player to confirm they are in their best shape," said Head Coach Rod Miller. It is vital to our mission to provide players with the tools and facilities necessary to be a championship team. "Going away to a prime location like this raises the bar for us as a whole and sets us up to be successful for the season ahead" said Assistant General Manager, Destiny Brown.
New Leaf Hospitality, which manages both Little Missouri Inn and Suites and the Teddy's Residential Suites will be taking care of both the Bucks housing and nutrition needs during their 10-day camp. "The communities openhandedness has been welcoming and nothing less than remarkable," said BEK CEO Derrick Bulawa, "and it provides the best way for us to extend our brand and our team's presence to another part of the state".
Stay tuned to our social media as we will be highlighting training camp and will bring you behind the scenes content as these players train to make the final cut and bringing them one step closer to a United Bowl Championship title this summer.
