Sidney High School football player Jaxson Franklin signed with Dickinson State University for the 2021-22 season on Jan. 28. Franklin was recruited to play wide receiver. He was selected as first team all conference at cornerback and second team all conference at wide receiver. He was also an all state selection at corner back and chosen as an alternate for the East West Shrine game at wide receiver. Franklin also plays hockey, soccer and track.
Sidney High School football player Tate Wieferich signed with Dickinson State University for the 2021-22 season on Feb. 1. Wieferich was recruited to play wide receiver but may play another position when the season starts. He was selected as second team all conference for running back. Wieferich played both running back and free safety last season. He also plays hockey and is a sprinter on the track team.
