Allcheck, Inc., located east of Checkers on 223 N Central Ave, Sidney, started offering drive-thru COVID-19 testing as of Monday, Dec. 14. Allcheck offers testing by appointment only, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Janette McCollum, the Allcheck and Checkers owner, said "Since we have the space, we decided to utilize it for drive-thru testing."
Allcheck offers both antibody and regular COVID-19 testing to the Sidney area. McCollum explained that in order to be tested for COVID-19, an individual must exhibit symptoms. Antibody tests are for individuals who believe they may have had COVID-19 but were never tested. "People who think they have had it but were never tested could probably come in and get an antibody test done. The best time to do this would be five weeks after you think you have had it because it takes a while to build up those antibodies," stated McCollum
Allcheck was established in April 2012 and has been offering DOT and employment physicals, respirator fit testing, hearing testing, and pulmonary function testing since then. Allcheck's main purpose was to provide physical examinations upfront, but now it has combined with the Checker's drug and alcohol testing.
In addition to this, McCollum explained that they will have a medical clinic up and running as of Feb. 1, 2021. At the moment they are working to develop a clinic, where physicians would be accepting patients. She said, "At the moment, we have both a medical doctor and a physician assistant that have been referring physicians, but on Feb. 1, our medical clinic will open, and our physicians are going to be prescribing physicians instead of referring physicians."
The goal of developing this medical clinic would be to help out the Sidney Health Center and to help provide more care in the Sidney area. McCollum said, "If we can help out Sidney Health Center and refer patients to them and help them as much as we can, that would be awesome. We also want to be able to offer more care locally because sometimes people go out of town for their care and if we can offer them something locally, then they wouldn't have to travel somewhere else.
