LeRoy was born on February 13, 1961 in Sidney, MT to William and Violet Colbert. He joined brother, William Jr. (Tyke) and sister Denise (Tootie). Despite being born with cerebral palsy LeRoy didn't let that slow him down and he had a zest for life and always had a smile.
He attended school in Billings, Richey, and Jamestown. While attending the Anne Carlsen School in Jamestown, ND he learned many life skills and graduated. After graduating he returned to Richey before moving to Missoula, MT. He then returned to Richey for several years before moving to Circle, MT.
Over the years LeRoy enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother. He loved being present for harvest and riding in the combine and grain trucks. He also enjoyed any type of road trip, especially going to auctions with his brother and dad and dragging main with his sister. LeRoy had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and was always ready to give them a ride on his lap in his wheelchair. Family and friends were an essential part of LeRoy's life and he never wanted to miss a gathering. He enjoyed having visitors and talking about local events. Anybody that knew LeRoy knew that if you were coming to visit him he was going to find out which vehicle you were driving for the trip. LeRoy had a special bond with Doris Olson, who would take care of him during ball games until he was old enough to attend. LeRoy had a passion for watching high school basketball and loved attending local games and cheering on his team and also his nieces and nephews. His love for basketball probably has him shooting hoops in heaven and preparing for a game of HORSE with his brother. LeRoy was compassionate and kind to everyone he met and all who knew him will miss his presence but we know he is healed and at peace.
LeRoy is survived by his parents, Bill and Violet Colbert, Richey, MT, his brother Tyke (Patty) Colbert, Richey, MT, his sister Tootie (Jim) Yadon, Fairview, MT, Aunt Norma Schultz, Circle, MT, Aunt Phyllis Carlsen, Sidney, MT, close friends, Hanz D. & Janet Haynie, Hanz & Sylvia Haynie, Chris & Marilyn Bateson, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
