Five McKenzie County 4-H'ers participated in the first State 4-H Air Rifle Match conducted in their home counties.
Gwen and John Signalness, children of Katie and Wade Signalness, Watford City, participated as juniors and beginners. In addition, the following 4-H'ers entered the beginner division:
• Beau Hovland, son of Jennifer and Blaine Hovland, Arnegard
• Will Forbes, son of Cari and Justin Forbes, Watford City
• Coty Schoenwald, son of Ross and Michelle Schoenwald, Keene
To participate in the match, NDSU Extension Offices were sent scoring targets to be completed between Sept. 21 & 26. The McKenzie County State Match took place on Sept. 23.
Juniors (ages 11-13) shot 60 shots in the prone, standing and kneeling positions. Beginners (8-10) shot 60 shots in a seated position.
Ross Schoenwald, Keene, serves as coach for McKenzie County youth.
