Caregivers Encouraged to Attend Online Workshop Staring Sept. 3

Has caring for a loved one become stressful for you? Caregiving is rewarding, but let’s face it: caregiving is not easy—physically, emotionally and financially.

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is a class designed to provide you, the family caregiver, with the skills you need to take care of yourself.

Classes will be held online six Thursdays, Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 and Oct. 1 and 8 from 2-4 p.m., CDT. To register, go to http://www.tinyurl.com/2020PowerfulTools or contact NDSU Extension in McKenzie County at 701-444-3451. This workshop is free-of-charge and includes a Caregiver Manual.

How will the “tools” benefit you? This series will help you in the following ways:

• Reduce stress

• Improve self-confidence

• Balance your life

• Better communicate your feelings

• Increase ability to make tough decisions

• Learn to locate helpful resources

Here is what a past participant has said about this workshop:

“After taking this class, I am a more confident caregiver! Having tools to resolve problems is a definite advantage in becoming a better caregiver and a happier, wiser, healthier me.”

When you take care of yourself, everyone benefits.

Class facilitators will be Marcia Hellandsaas, NDSU Extension Agent/McKenzie County, Vanessa Hoines, NDSU Extension Agent/Morton County and Shaundra Ziemann-Bolinske, NDSU Extension Agent, Burleigh County.
