(The following is part of a partnership between the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture and Richland County Job Service Employers Committee to promote area employers as they seek employees).
Reynolds Market is one of the most popular stops in Sidney, and store officials believe part of the reason is because of the high quality of their employees.
Reynolds offers a good variety of positions including cashiers, stockers, deli employees, bakery staff and meat cutters.
"When I interview people, I like to make it unique," Loren Kutzler, Reynolds Market store manager, said. "I like to visit and see where they might fit in at."
A personality trait that is required at Reynolds is for employees to be outgoing.
"The one thing you need to be is friendly," Kutzler said. He noted about 3,000 people come to the store each day so it would be difficult to be bashful.
There certainly isn't much of an age requirement at the store. Reynolds' approximate 110 employees range from age 14-80. "It makes for a unique work environment," Kutzler said. Many "retired" individuals' love working a few hours each day at the business.
Kutzler also enjoys giving students a first job so they can learn the responsibility of earning a paycheck.
About half of the employees are full-time staff members. About 10 employees have worked at Reynolds for more than 20 years. Benefits include health, life, dental, vision, 401K and vacation time.
He noted that during challenging times, employees try to help out whether it's financially or by providing other type of support.
"I've always tried to make it a family atmosphere," Kutzler said.
