One Couple Needing to Upsize, the Other Needing to Downsize - They Find a Solution Together

Marvin & Elaine Stedman didn't require as much room any longer, meanwhile their son and daughter-in law Matt & Teresa Stedman with their three children and pet dog had outgrown their home. They found the right solution together. They bought each others' home. But with that, another concern came about. Teresa was worried about making changes to her mother-in-law's former home, because she didn't want to harm feelings in altering it. Her mother-in-law Elaine told her not to worry and encouraged her to put her own style into it for her family.

The young couple chose the areas of the home to keep, and those to alter. They kept what they could appreciate and altered others to suit. Brenda Larson from Creative Solutions was instrumental in making it all happen. For example, in the kitchen they kept the existing cabinets but got new doors and drawer fronts, and had them painted in a new slate color.

They got new quartz countertops, appliances, and flooring. In the master bath they added a double sink vanity, got new cabinetry. They also put in a new tub, in addition to a custom-fitted shower. The existing linen cabinet was kept but its doors were replaced to match the Knotty Alder vanity.

The Stedmans would like to add that everyone was extremely easy to work together with and responsive and would like to thank everyone involved but especially Creative Solutions and Luinstra Construction for their diligence and dedication to their home remodel project.
