Holiday decorating is easy when you purchase your decorated tree or wreath at the Festival of Trees & Wreaths Saturday, November 30 at the Double Barrel in Fairview. The fun starts at 4:30 p.m. with visits with Santa until 6 p.m. Be sure to bring your camera! The silent auction will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. followed by the live auction at 7p.m. Free hors d’oeuvres and live music with Mick Klien complete the fun evening.
The auction items include beautiful wreaths, decorated trees and other Christmas related items. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Brian Renville at 701-770-4025 or Laurie Schlothauer at 406-489-1094. A traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year go to the donor of the top selling item!
Sponsored by the Fairview Community Foundation, this big fundraiser helps the Foundation support the community in multiple ways. Just in the past year, they have provided flood relief, donated to the ambulance barn and other entities, helped with the Family Gathering in the park, hosted a breakfast food drive, provided chairs and a pool mat to the swimming pool, hosted “Border Battle” basketball and the father/daughter dance, provided scholarships to Fairview students, held the 3rd annual Sugar Valley Hoopfest, provided Jump ‘n Fun inflatables during Festival, held a Grandparents Appreciation Breakfast and hosted Trick or Treat at the Fairview High School.
On December 31, the group will host its second annual New Years Eve Dance & Social at the Richland County Event Center for all high school age kids in the surrounding area. Watch for all the details.
Group member Laurie Schlothauer stated that they will continue those projects and would do more. “But we can’t do it without you!” she said. Come out for a great time, good food, music and fun and support this incredible Foundation and all the great things they do for the community. And have half (or more) of your Christmas decorating done!
