On October 7-8, West Side and Central Elementary Schools hosted the award winning author and illustrator Janet Stevens from Boulder, Colorado. Janet has won numerous awards for her work with her sister Susan. Ms Stevens presented each class with their very own illustration to use as a character for a story. She discussed the importance of writing, drawing and using your imagination with the students while entertaining them with her picture book talks. (Submitted by Jean Barnhart).
Mrs. Pust's second grade class welcomed Janet with a mural they created for her based on the book "Cook-a-Doodle-Doo". (Submitted by Amber Pust).
