September 28 Deadline For Submission Of McKenzie County Community Foundation Grants

The McKenzie County Community Foundation invites area 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, government agencies (groups without such designation may enlist a fiscal sponsor) to apply for their grant offerings—totaling over $6900.

Applications are due by September 28. Go to http://www.NDCF.net/McKenzieCounty and click on Apply for Grant. The Local Advisory Committee Members (Marcia Hellandsaas, Jan Dodge, Daniel Stenberg, Ty Skarda, Desiree Sorenson, Douglas Rolfson, Gaye Dvirnak and Deb Wisness) will discuss the applications and determine grant awards in early October. Also, please stop by our table at Heritage Day on September 21 at the Heritage Park. We would like to hear about your project!

Many sectors of area communities have benefitted from McKenzie County Community Foundation grants in the past. Parks and Recreation, youth services, social services, emergency services and healthcare are just a few of the entities that have received funding.

We receive many more requests for funds than we can fulfill. Gifts for our endowment are welcomed and accepted year round. Our fund and certain donations will qualify for a 40% state income tax credit for those in or out of the state filing in North Dakota. The McKenzie County Community Foundation operates under the umbrella of the North Dakota Community Foundation and is a qualified 501c3.

Please address questions about the tax credit, anonymous giving or other services of the NDCF, to John Heinen, our regional support person, at [email protected]. All inquiries are kept confidential.

McKenzie County Community Foundation Chair Marcia Hellandsaas can help you with local questions. She can be reached at 701-444-3451.
