The First Annual ”Let Them Shine” Kids Farmers Market will showcase young entrepreneurs as they take over The Shoppes at Peifer’s at the corner of 7th St. and Lincoln Ave., S.W., Sidney from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28. Kelly Alvstad, owner of Peifer’s General Store and the Bittersweet Hideout & Coffee Shack, is excited about giving kids the opportunity to market their products and learn some basic business skills.
Look for kids manning the General Store where 10% of that day’s proceeds will go towards the Christmas Coalition. Plus, .50 from each beverage sold in the Bittersweet Hideout & Coffee Shack will also be donated to the Coalition. Peifer’s encourages donations of new, unwrapped toys and clothing, plus gift cards and monetary donations, all of which will go to needy children at Christmas time.
Outside, kids will set up lemonade stands, baked goods, art stations, veggie stands and more. The event will take place indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Relax with a cup of great coffee or tea, find a treasure in the Country Store and donate to a great cause, all while supporting the future business people in our community.
Anyone interested in a booth is asked to contact Kelly at 701-509-0037. Cost is just an item for the Christmas Coalition.
