A team of German Wrestlers traveled to Montana this summer for exibition duals and a lot of fun. Each year there is a wrestling cultural exchange with Germany and Montana. The wrestling programs alternate years that the teams will travel to the host county. This year Germany traveled to Montana. Next year a Montana team will travel to Germany.
The German team is from Baden Württemberg in south west Germany. The wrestlers are from ages 15 to 23 and are coached by Steffen Blocher and team leader Jürgen Trinkle.
The team is visiting the state until August 30. Their first stop was Billings. There they had a dual with a Billings team and also visited Yellowstone Park. They then traveled to Sidney and had a dual with the Sidney team on July 31 at the Richland County Fair. They also visited Fort Peck to jet ski and fished, boated and swam in the Yellowstone River.
The team has now moved on to Kalispell. Their final stop in Montana will be Missoula.
