Sunrise Festival Kids Corner

The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture announces that the 29th annual Sunrise Festival of the Arts, presented by XTO Energy, will feature a new and expanded Kids Corner on Saturday, July 13.  The segment will now be called Arch’s Kids Corner after the late Arch Ellwein, who was an outstanding contributor to the Sunrise Festival of the Arts for many years.

A Lemonade Stand Contest will be one of the features of Arch’s Kids Corner. Youngsters are urged to build a stand, sell their lemonade and join the fun. Pre-register at the Sidney Chamber office or by calling 433-1916. A parent or guardian must attend the event with the child. Booths must be set up by 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The price of lemonade can’t exceed 50 cents a cup. Contestants are responsible to bring their own stand and ingredients. Cups will be provided.

There will be prizes for the most creative stand, best lemonade and People’s Choice.

The day of fun at Arch’s Kids Corner will also include a tractor pedal pull.  Prizes will be awarded. Tri-County Implement is providing the pedal tractors.

District I Prevention Specialists will have a booth for a summer to-do bucket list and a selfie station for kids to be part of the #makehealthychoices campaign.

The Brorson Farmhands 4-H Club will decorate its large Adirondack chair for photos.

The Sunrise Women’s Clinic is also working on another fun activity for the event.

Area regional artists and authors are featured at the annual Sunrise Festival of the Arts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on July 13.

The day includes live entertainment, prize drawings and concessions.

The event is free, but you can purchase a Sunrise Festival button for discounts at Sidney businesses and a chance to win prizes. Buttons cost $4 in advance and are available at the Sidney Chamber, Stockman Bank, Richland Federal Credit Union and Yellowstone Bank. Buttons are $5 the day of the event.
