ROI executive director Dan Peters was honored as the Executive Director of the Year by the Montana Association of Community Disability Services (MACDS) during their annual meeting June 11 and 12.
The three reasons listed for the award were:
Peters' service and involvement at the regional and state levels including serving as president of the eastern Montana region for the past three years. He also serves on the executive board of MACDS, which is a 10 person board that meets electronically every Tuesday. "I am learning a lot by being on that board," Peters said.
The way ROI has taken new clients with challenging behaviors and successfully acclimated them into being part of their provider.
Pursuing and implementing alternate funding sources such as the Night of Comedy, fireworks stand and the ROI Thrift Store. ROI also plans to be a vendor at the upcoming Sunrise Festival of the Arts in Sidney and, if it is successful, set up at the Fairview Old Timers Reunion as well.
Peters gave credit for the award to the people who work at ROI including the administrative staff, managers and direct care staff, and the board.
