Sidney Middle School is excited to donate $3055.00 to families of Fairview that were affected by the flood this spring. While it will only cover a fraction of the losses, we want all those affected to know we are very sorry.
Mrs. Allen and the student in Builder's Club (Kiwanian) wanted to help our Fairview neighbors. The club decided to sponsor a month of fundraisers and we are grateful to the staff and students that supported our efforts. Every Wednesday during the month of April, students could wear a hat and teachers could wear jeans and donate a dollar.
Builder's Club also held a Bake Sale in the park that was not only yummy, but very successful. Each Builder's Club member made something to sell and Mrs. Allen's FCS class made several things to add to the sale.
Students could also purchase a drink from the RUSH or Simply Scrumptious for $5 and every drink purchased would give $1.50 to the fundraiser. A big thank you to Mrs. Klose for arranging this every day.
The last big fundraiser was a movie day at Central Theater for a donation of $5 and all proceeds went directly to our fundraiser. Sharisse Slade was very generous in allowing 245 middle school students to come and enjoy an afternoon movie. She also asked Sherida Poulson and Carli Karren to help her that day. We are also grateful for our parent volunteer, Michael Vanderdahl.
Again, we have an amazing staff, students, and parents that helped make this a successful fundraiser. "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." – Mother Teresa
