All youth who enrolled in 4-H and are ages 8 (by September 1 of 2018) to 18 and like the sport of archery are invited to participate in the 4-H Badlands Roundup District Archery Match in Watford City on Saturday, January 26. The event will be held at the Rough Rider Event Center. Doors open at 8:45 am with the first flight starting at 9:30 am CT for beginners and juniors. Flights will be held throughout the day with the last flight starting at 1:45 pm CT. Shooters need to arrive one half hour prior to the start of their flight. They will shoot for approximately one hour (except for seniors) and can leave following that.
Two bow divisions are offered: freestyle unlimited and bare bow. Here is a breakdown of divisions:
Beginner, junior and senior bare bow – shoot six ends (rounds) of five arrows at an 80-cm target at 15 yards for a maximum score of 300
Freestyle beginners and juniors – shoot six ends of five arrows at a 40-cm target for a maximum score of 150
Senior freestyle – shoot 12 ends of five arrows at a single bull target at 20 yards for a score of 300
The cost to participate is $15.00.
