Myrna Kay Danielson Brodhead was born December 13, 1940 in Sidney Hospital to Axel and Hilda Danielson. She grew up on their farm east of Fairview. She had three brothers and two sisters; Russell, Robert, Dale, Ruth and Doris.
Myrna attended Central and East Fairview Elementary Schools and Fairview High School.
Myrna and Leon Brodhead were married September 15, 1957 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Fairview. To this union were born two daughters and two sons; Jacklyn, Leann, Daniel and Mark.
Myrna was very faithful to her church, Trinity Lutheran, making quilts weekly, caring for the altar flowers and decorating the church for each season. She was in charge of the Lutheran World Relief annual clothing drive and a member of the LWML.
Myrna was involved in her children's activities including Camp Fire Girls Leader and Cub Scouts Den Mother. Myrna worked from home where she was in charge of the bookkeeping and phone answering alongside Leon for the explosives company.
She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and the southwest in the winter. She and Leon went to Alaska one spring and said they would return when they had seen it all. They returned a few months later with many stories and a lot of pictures. Myrna especially enjoyed fishing in the summer. They would pack up the four kids and travel to Canada for weeks of fishing enjoyment or the weekends at Rock Creek. As the grandchildren got old enough to go along, they caught the fishing bug too. In the winter, Myrna could be coaxed into bundling up and snowmobiling with the family. She loved the annual Christmas snowmobile trip with the whole gang to West Yellowstone or Seeley Lake. Her favorite part of the trips was the evenings in the cabin playing games with the kids.
Her passions were her flower beds of roses, sewing and knitting. While she was able, she made Christmas socks, sweaters and afghans for the family. Myrna loved to bake. She organized the annual apple pie making day and holiday lefsa making. Her daughters and granddaughters keep her tradition of family baking days for her.
Myrna was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2000 and entered the Angel Wing January 7, 2009. She passed away June 25, 2018 with her loving husband, children and grandchildren at her side.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leon, daughters, Jacklyn (Loren) Young, Fairview, Leann (Jim) Pelvit, Sidney, sons Daniel (Toni) Brodhead, Sidney and Mark (Julie) Brodhead, Sidney. Myrna was blessed with twenty-six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She leaves behind a sister, Ruth Miller, Sidney and brother Dale (Diane) Danielson, Fairview.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Axel & Hilda; brothers, Robert and Russell and sister, Doris.
