The McKenzie County Long X Arts Foundation will revive an old Homefest Tradition by hosting Art in the Park, Saturday, June 23rd from 11 am – 6 pm at the Watford City Children’s Park on Main Street.
The Art in the Park event is in conjunction with the Watford City Chamber festivities hosted on Main Street that weekend. Over 20 artists, crafters, bakers and makers will showcase and sell their work.
Entertainment for the day includes traditional country music by the popular Merrill Piepkorn and the Radio Stars from 12:00 to 2 pm while the Watford City Lions Club serve $5 burger plates for lunch starting at 11 am. Following The Radio Stars, Tim Ritter and Amanda Johnson will take the stage for more entertainment thanks to sponsorship from the Pioneer Museum, Meyer’s Department Store and Door 204.
Kids will enjoy free art activities hosted by the Long X Arts Foundation and all ages can paint an art apron for free with Quick Draw Art Studios throughout the day. Kids can also make slime from 11am – 1 pm and 4 pm - 6 pm with Paisley and a local potter will be available to help you throw your own pottery. Top it off with free face painting sponsored by RE/MAX and Bakken Realty and a chalk walk for a full day of art and fun.
For the sporty types, Watford City Parks and Recreation will be hosting a sand volleyball tournament in the park starting at 2 pm. To register a team or participate as an individual contact Watford City Parks and Recreation at 701-842-3665.
