Roosevelt Medical Center Set to Host: Zoe & Friends

After settling in as Roosevelt Medical Center’s newest provider, Zoe Fugere, FNP, will take part in her first community awareness event where she will discuss the issue of addiction.

“We will think beyond drugs and alcohol and also consider addictions to tobacco, caffeine, sugar, technology and several others,” Fugere said.

The event is taking place on March 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall in Culbertson.

Fugere will discuss the many types of addictions, how you can get help and help others. She will also discuss ways to protect your children from the allure of harmful substances. A question and answer session will follow.

“People might not think of their coffee as an addiction, but 21 million Americans drinks six or more cups a day,” Fugere said. “You may not think of a nightly chocolate fix as an addiction, but Americans eat an average of 77 pounds of sugar a year,” she continued. “While it’s perfectly fine to drink coffee and eat chocolate, it’s the amount and frequency that could be a serious problem,” she said. “This event will hopefully open people’s eyes to signs of addictions in their own life while also giving them some techniques for addressing them,” she said.

The casual event will also be fun and inspiring while offering attendees hors d’oeuvres, coffee, wine, giveaways and a raffle.

The event is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.
