Scott Swenson, a Founder of McKenzie County Bank and Cornerstone Bank Corporate Board Member, said, "Jane and I have had the pleasure of working with Vicki for over 30 years. She has been successful in every area of the bank and in her many positions in the community. It is exciting and historic for Vicki, starting as a Vocational Office Education student here in 1986 and now moving into the Market President position. We know she will excel in her new role."
Since opening in Watford City 35 years ago, McKenzie County Bank has changed its name to Cornerstone Bank and has moved to a new location, but the bank's commitment to community has remained unchanged. Last summer Cornerstone Bank moved into their new Watford City location at 106 8th Ave SE (on Hwy 85 to the east across from Heggen Equipment) providing a welcoming environment, a drive up ATM that's available 24 hours a day, and convenient parking. McKenzie County Bank was started in Watford City in 1982 by the Darold Petersen family, who also owned and operated Lakeside State Bank in New Town, originating back to 1952. The Petersen family remains Cornerstone Banks' largest shareholder. McKenzie County Bank was formed on the premise of serving the community and helping customers, which remains true today at Cornerstone Bank.
