The Hard Spring Wheat Show is offering a $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors from Richland, Williams, McKenzie, Divide, Mountrail, Burke, Sheridan, and Roosevelt Counties. The scholarship is designed to financially support students who will be pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field in the fall of 2018. To be eligible, students must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must write a one-paged paper on the topic, “ What do you think is an important challenge facing agriculture today?” Also students must submit an application form (which can be found online at http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/williamscountyextension) and a high school transcript to the National Hard Spring Wheat Show via the Williams County Extension office. The completed application materials should be mailed or emailed to the office by December 1st.
The first prize recipient will receive a scholarship of $1,000 and two runner-ups will receive a $500 scholarship. Winners will be notified prior to the 65th annual National Hard Spring Wheat Show, and winners will be required to attend an award luncheon on February 8th, 2018 in Williston.
