Wade Elder is enjoying an exciting start to his role as Market President at Cornerstone Bank as the bank prepares to move to their brand new bank location in July.
Elder joined the bank in 2012 as a business banker. He has over 30 years of experience in banking in North Dakota and Montana. He succeeds former Market President Dale Patten who retired on March 31 after a distinguished career of more than 33 years in banking.
Originally from Beulah, North Dakota, Elder holds an Associates degree from Bismarck State College and attended the University of Mary. He is a past President of the Watford City Chamber of Commerce.
When asked about his new role as Market President, Elder says, "It's a pleasure to provide community banking with a team of bankers who truly care about our customers and our communities."
In his spare time, Wade enjoys muscle cars and classic rock 'n' roll. He and his wife Susan reside in Watford City. Their daughter lives in the Seattle area and their two sons and grandchildren live in Bozeman.
In addition to a change in Market President, Cornerstone Bank is also about to make a change in location. On Monday, July 24, Cornerstone Bank will open for business at their new building located at 106 8th Ave SE (on Hwy 85 to the east across from Heggen Equipment) in Watford City. In preparation for the relocation, the lobby at their existing location (500 2nd Ave SW) will close at noon on Friday, July 21, but the drive-up will be open until 5:00 p.m. as usual. The bank will be closed entirely on Saturday, July 22. In addition to the beautiful, well planned inside of the building, the new location will also offer the added convenience of a drive up ATM and better parking.
Elder says, "We have outgrown our current location and are very excited about the new bank that will better fit our team member and customer needs."
An open house celebrating the new bank is being planned for September.
