The construction of the Roundabout at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highways 200/23 south of Sidney is scheduled to begin on the week of July 10.
This advisory is a general description of the overall 2017 season. Updates will be forwarded prior to specific events that will substantially impact the traveling public.
July will see limited travel impacts in the area during the construction of an adjacent detour. However, be prepared for activity in and around the project. Traffic control will be in place. Be prepared for equipment and personnel throughout the project. Flaggers may be present as well.
In early August, the detour will be opened to facilitate two lane, two way traffic on all roadways, including Highway 16. The detour will have a Highway 16, Highways 200/23 intersection. Highway 16 will continue to be thru traffic and Highways 200/23 will be stop sign controlled.
From August through early November the majority of construction activity will have only limited delays or impacts to traffic, as trucks will be hauling materials to and from the job.
The detour will stay in use throughout the winter. Project completion is scheduled for July 2018.
