Watford City’s Long X Arts Foundation will be hosting a Community Arts Forum on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Door 204 on Main Street Watford City.
The event is being organized by the foundation in an effort to gather artists, musicians, community members and art enthusiasts together to share ideas about arts programming, events and opportunities they’d like to see in the community.
The event is free and open to the public of all ages. Snacks will be served, door prizes will be awarded and coffee and wine will be available for purchase from Door 204’s menu. Devin Wolf, area musician and songwriter, will be playing from 6:30 to 7:00.
“This will be a fun and informal way to connect with people who share a passion for the arts,” said Jan Dodge, Long X Foundation board member. “It will be a night of good discussion in a lovely atmosphere and our goal is to come out of it with some solid ideas and new resources to help this organization grow and thrive.”
Officially founded in 2015, the Long X Arts Foundation is a new organization seeking volunteers, memberships, sponsors and donations to continue its mission of enriching the lives of Watford City and McKenzie County community members and youth by offering unique opportunities for arts-based development, cultivation and entertainment. The community forum is being organized in an effort to support the mission to ensure that the foundation is meeting the desires of the community.
In 2016 the group hosted the 1st Annual Badlands Arts Showcase that featured an evening of original western North Dakota dance and music performances and art in the beautiful new theater space in the new Watford City High School. Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual event on Thursday, April 27.
