Don't Miss These Upcoming Training Sessions

The Sidney Job Service Employers Committee (JSEC) is holding some upcoming training sessions in the next two months. The first will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16th from 8:00am until noon at the MSU Extension Office, 1499 N Central Ave in Sidney. Jim Larson from the Montana Ag Safety Program will be speaking on Farm and ATV Safety. This is a free class, however anyone interested in attending needs to contact the Job Service to register.

On Tuesday, Nov. 22nd, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring a training session on how to deal with violence in the workplace. A representative from the FBI will be giving the presentation, focusing on how to diffuse volatile workplace situations and how to respond if there is an active shooter. This will be held at the Richland County Event Center, 2118 W Holly St, from 8:00am until noon and there is no cost to attend. Job Service and JSEC are helping spread the word about this training session and are handling the RSVP registration calls, so anyone interested in attending needs to contact the Job Service to register.

Lastly, on Wednesday, Dec. 7th independent CPA and pro advisor Shannon May will be teaching a QuickBooks course, giving an overview of how to use the program and basic book keeping. It will be specific to the agriculture industry. The class is from 9:00am -4:00pm at the MSU Extension Office. There must be at least six people attending to hold the class, with a limit of ten; there is a $99 fee. Contact Job Service for the registration form by December 2nd.

The purpose of the JSEC is to promote area businesses by providing training and speakers. The committee will meet at noon on Nov. 15th at the MonDak Heritage Center, 120 3rd Ave SE, and is open to the public. Anyone who would like to come can bring their lunch with them to the hour-long meeting.
