Three Richland County ranchers have been elected to be delegates at the 133rd annual American Angus Association Convention of Delegates. Dale Vitt, Chad Denowh, and Michael Denowh will be three of the 17 delegates that represent the state of Montana. The Convention of Delegates is part of the 2016 Angus Convention, which is being held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN, Nov. 5th – 7th.
The American Angus Association is the largest beef breed organization, serving more than 25,000 members across the United States and Canada. The Angus Convention holds meetings and educational sessions and provides networking opportunities. A trade show, keynote speakers, evening socials, and prize giveaways will also be included during the two-day event.
While there, delegates will elect five new directors, a president, vice president, chairman of the board, and vice chairman of the board. They will also make business decisions for the upcoming year.
“I’m honored to represent Angus breeders in Montana, and I’m looking forward to the convention,” Vitt said. “I’ve gone before as an alternate delegate and it’s a good opportunity to see what’s going on in the business. The educational seminars would benefit anyone who goes.”
The number of delegates chosen to represent each state is determined by the number of cattle and number of breeders within that state.
“Forty people were nominated, so it’s an honor to know that Angus breeders in the state want me to represent them,” commented Chad Denowh. “The convention is a great networking opportunity, and I’ve tried to attend as a member as often as I could.”
