Raymond Hansen appeared in Seventh Judicial District Court before the Honorable Judge Katherine M. Bidegaray on Wednesday, Sept. 14th. Deputy County Attorney for Richland County Thomas Halvorson is prosecuting the case. Cynthia Thornton with the State Public Defenders Office in Glendive, MT represented Hansen, who was advised of the charges against him as well as his rights. Hansen was informed of potential penalties if convicted of the felony charge of deliberate homicide, and entered a plea of not guilty. An omnibus hearing was set for Nov. 2, 2016 at 8:15am, in which motion deadlines will be set. The final pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 6, 2017 and his trial will be held Feb. 20 – Mar. 3, 2017.
Hansen is being charged with deliberate homicide in the death of Sidney resident Terry Klein who died of a gunshot wound on the morning of Aug. 24, 2016. Hansen was taken into custody later that day and is being held on a $2 million bond.
