Do you like to ease up time spent in the kitchen when the weather allows us to enjoy our gardens and other outdoor activities? Are you busy with sporting and other events in the evenings? Freezer meals can help. The basic concept of freezer cooking is you spend time cooking a quantity of meals that will feed you or your family for two weeks or up to two months.
“Making Freezer Meals with Lentils, Chickpeas and Split Peas” will be held on Monday, September 26 at the McKenzie County Extension Office, 205 6th Street NW, (located in the brown “McKenzie County” building directly behind the Courthouse.) Class will start at 6 pm and conclude by 7:30 pm.
Concepts of freezer meals will be introduced and can be applied to a wide variety of ingredients. This lesson will focus on the nutrition aspects of pulse foods.
Participants will have opportunity to take home a start of a freezer meal and to sample several freezer meal dishes prepared with pulse foods.
Pre-registration is requested prior to attending. Please contact the McKenzie County Extension Office at 701-444-3451 or email [email protected] if you are interested in participating in this program. Pre-registrations should be received by Thursday, September 22.
