The Old Settler's Day Celebration will be held Sept. 1st - 3rd in Alexander

Stop by the Old Settler’s Day Celebration in Alexander, ND, September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; $2 buttons are available in Alexander at the Hiway Lounge, First International Bank & Trust, and James Gang Java. Festivities begin on Thursday at 7:00pm central time with a bonfire on the east side of the park. Friday the public can head to main street between 3:00 and 7:00pm for the chili cook-off; anyone interested in entering their mouthwatering chili can contact Barb or Jamie at 701-570-2011 or 701-770-2100.

At 4:00pm the Cornhole Tournament will be held between the Hiway Lounge and First International Bank & Trust. The beanbag- toss Cornhole Tournament is open to anyone 21 years or older and will be played with two-man teams.

Join Alexander for their street dance from 9:00pm – 1:00am Friday night; music for the Main Street dance will be provided by the Trainwrecks.

Saturday, September 3rd parade registration is from 8:00am – 11:00am at the Lewis & Clark Trail Museum, with the parade to follow. There will be direct sellers, food and craft vendors in the park from 11:00am – 5:00pm, and if anyone works up an appetite while they’re shopping in the park, a BBQ is scheduled for noon. The Kids Carnival will be set up in the southwest corner of the park from noon until 2:00pm.

The Sanders family will be recognized at 1:30pm at the high school football field, and the Alexander Comets football team will play against the Savage Warriors at 2:00pm.

Bingo in the park starts at 3:00pm under the covered picnic area and the Hiway Lounge Horseshoe Tournament begins at 4:00pm, located in the southeast corner of the park. The festivities will wrap up with the Saturday night Street Dance, with music performed by The Great Outdoors from 9:00pm – 1:00am.
