Ribfest 2016 This Friday in Watford City

One of the biggest events in Western North Dakota takes place on Main Street Watford City. The Best of the West Ribfest, Street Fair and Classic Car show is set for August 12, 2016 and this year it will be bigger and better than ever!

The event kicks off with a fundraising breakfast for the local Boy Scouts, served on Main Street from 8-10 am. The Street Fair opens at 10 am with lunch being served at 11.

Teams will be cooking up ribs on the street all day and ribs will be sold and served to the public at 5 pm. This year, for the first time, the public has a chance to be the judge!

The Best of the West Ribfest Committee has announced the addition of an exciting new VIP Rib Judging Ticket for sale.

A $100 VIP ticket makes you an official judge of Ribfest, giving you all access to taste test every rib entry and cast your vote as well as providing you the perks of VIP seating under the shade of the Sentry Crane and Services VIP tent from 4-8 PM. Beer and wine sponsored by Stonehome Brewery and Outlaws will be provided along with Coke products sponsored by Coca Cola of Williston. VIP ticket holders will also receive bottled water and a can koozie sponsored by RTC, a Ribfest mug and coupon for 50% off Ribfest merchandise and up front seating for "This Cowboy's Hat-Chris LeDoux Tribute Concert that evening.

"We're so excited to offer this very unique opportunity for our die-hard rib fans," said Jessie Scofield, Ribfest committee chair. "This is a fun addition to the event that will result in true 'people's choice' winners. "

In addition to the great food, Ribfest features fun for the whole family with kids games, inflatables and live music featuring Medora's Burning Hills Singers, Devin Wolf, Kristina and Stephan Dale, Lonesome Willy and a featured concert by "This Cowboy's Hat-Chris LeDoux Tribute Band."

"This tribute band will be a huge hit with the Ribfest crowd," said Scofield. "They put on a wonderful show, with lots of surprises, and have performed throughout the region to rave reviews. You're not going to want to miss it!"

The public will also enjoy the Classic Car Show and a few friendly rounds of Bingo during the day. There will be street vendors and several ping-pong drops that will offer special deals from Main Street businesses.

Ribfest contestants will also be competing with each other in fun games and contests throughout the day.
