The Sidney Tiger Sharks competed in Malta this weekend for Divisionals. They had 55 swimmers after having to scratch some for injuries that had occurred prior to the meet. It was a rough start to the day on Saturday as many of the swimmers were adding time with the change in pool and nervousness of being at Divisionals. I asked them to dig deep and swim for the team, as we needed everyone’s points to be successful. The Sharks were working hard and by the middle of the meet they began doing what they do best, shaving time. Going into Sunday we had 45 swimmers qualifying to swim at state. The team swam hard on Sunday and pulled out the championship win. We also placed 2nd in relays overall, and the 8 year old girls got a pool record with swimming their best time. It was a great weekend; I am beyond proud of our swimmers and can’t wait to “Strike Back” at state this weekend in Hamilton.
