Join the Fun During the Fairview Old Timer's Reunion, July 15-17

Be sure and visit Fairview, MT for their Old Timer’s Reunion and Summer Festival July 15th, 16th, and 17th. Buttons honoring Dick Shannon will be available for $2.00 Friday and Saturday in Sharbono Park where visitors can sign in, and spend some time visiting. Those with a festival button will get free admittance to Ft. Union and Fort Buford all three days, and lunch in the park on Saturday.

Stop by the park from 5:00pm until 7:00pm for the registration of Old Timers and have hamburgers with the Class on ’65.

Saturday, there will be an all-day Historical Treasure Hunt, organized by Cory Wheeler; throughout the day participants must answer historical questions about Fairview and its buildings. Anyone interested can begin at the Gazebo in Sharbono Park.

Between 10:00am and 2:00pm, a free car show will be held across the street from the west side of the park. There’s no registration and anyone is welcome to come and show what they’ve got, be it cars, trucks, or motorcycles. For more information, contact Gene Trudell at 406-480-3989.

Registration for Old Timers will be held from 9:00am until noon and 2016 and past Festival buttons can also be purchased during this time. Kids activities and craft, commercial, and food vendors will be in the park from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Kids of all ages are invited to partake in games, face painting, temporary tattoos, and have their picture taken in the photo booth; cotton candy, sno-cones, and water will be available. Don’t forget to support the Fairview Warriors, who will be selling shirts and hats in the park. Anyone interested in being a vendor should contact Pastor Roberta Pierce, 406-478-9518.

The Kiddie Parade will line up at the MonDak Family Clinic, 304 S Ellery Ave, and will start at 11:00am; the Grand Parade line-up begins at 11:30am on State Street while lunch is being served in the park. The Grand Parade will start at 1:00pm, including floats and classic cars, led by horsemen carrying national and state flags.

Following the parade, there will be a program in the park where there will be a welcome, musical entertainment, the reading of Dick Shannon’s bio, Historical Treasure Hunt hints, and a beef auction.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is having a 40th Anniversary open house from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, so be sure to stop in at 310 Ellery Ave. The Duck Race will start at 4:00pm at the canal bridge on County Rd 134 and will make their way towards the Brodhead House. The first three across the finish line will be awarded: $2,000 for 1st, $1,000 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd. This Explore America fundraiser will help send 23 high school juniors to Washington DC and New York City; for more information, contact AnnDee Taylor at 406-480-0927.

At 6:00pm the Community Social starts at the Fairview School prior to the country music stylings of Sam Platts & the Kootenai Three, presented by Old Timers Reunion. This is a free community concert and the festival committee would like to thank Candlewood Suites in Sidney for the band’s hotel accommodations.

The Fairview Pool will be open for a free Teen Swim from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. There will be live entertainment both Friday and Saturday nights in downtown Fairview.

Church service at 10:30am in Sharbono Park will wrap up the festival. The Fairview school will be open for class reunion tours Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm, Saturday from 4:00pm – 9:00pm, and Friday evening and Sunday by appointment.
