Entertainment provided by magician Kent Messmer is anticipated to be one of the highlights during Lambert's Fourth of July celebration this year.
Messmer is scheduled to entertain with fun balloon twisting and up-close magic tricks from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
He will then present a comedy/magic show in the park starting at 3:30 p.m.
According to his website, Messmer's show is geared toward the entire family. He is an entertainer who creates magic and illusions.
He is a Montana native who first discovered magic at the age of 9 after seeing a magician perform at his church. In more than 20 years of performing, Messmer has entertained at hundreds of fairs, festivals and special events.
The day in Lambert will also include inflatables and a "paintless" paintball arena provided by Illusions Plus from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Jessica Newman will offer face painting from 10-11:30 a.m. During the afternoon, Vernon DJ and Karaoke Services will fill the streets with music.
The annual parade and children's parade begins at 11 a.m. Entries should start meeting at Nortana beginning at 10 a.m. There will be prizes for best decorated child's entries.
After the parade, the traditional barbecue by the Lambert Volunteer Fire Department takes place.
In addition, the Fox Lake Senior Center will offer slush burger plates, pie, ice cream and root beer floats as well as a quilt show. All proceeds will go to the Fox Lake Senior Center and Relay for Life.
At 1:30 p.m., a ball drop from a plane will occur. The ball drop is sponsored by pilot Bryan Prevost and Blue Rock.
The Fox Lake Senior Center, CQ Bar and Grill, museum and Country Store will be open all afternoon.
A barbecue is scheduled for 5 p.m. outside of Town and Country.
At dusk, fireworks sponsored by the Lambert Volunteer Fire Department will finish the celebration.
