Young Professionals Planning Barbecue In Watford City

The Young Professionals of Watford City, which was formed last November, is excited to invite the public to its summer kickoff barbecue scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. June 15 at the Cornerstone Bank’s parking lot.

Kylee Roff, the club’s president, and Kelsey Linseth, vice president, explain the barbecue is being held in partnership with Cornerstone Bank so residents can check out the bank’s new location and plans.

The meal will feature hot dogs with two sides for $5. There will be yard games and bouncy houses offered.

The Young Professionals encourages all individuals, kids and families to attend the fun activity.

The organization, which features about 65 members, raised funds for the Kent Pelton Nature Park during its Prairie Rose Gala in April.

“It went very well,” Linseth said. “It was such a fun evening. We had a lot of silent auction items.”

As the result of the gala, the group will present a check of more than $17,000 to the park board.

In addition, people made donations to purchase such items as benches, trees and bird baths.

The goal of the Young Professionals is to provide an environment to learn, gain new skills, network and socialize.

“It’s a great place to live, but our goal is to offer even more opportunities,” Linseth said.
