The 2016 MonDak Ag Showcase is scheduled for July 14-15 at the Williston Research Extension Center Ernie French Center in Williston.
“We’ve got more people willing to speak this year than for the last few years from private industry, NDSU and USDA,” said Jerry Bergman, director of the North Dakota State University Williston Research Extension Center. “We’re looking forward to hearing from all of them.”
The dryland tour will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 14. The center is located 0.6 miles west of the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 85.
Bergman said topics will include cropping rotation, weed control for small grains and plant diseases.
After coffee and rolls at 8:30 a.m. and a welcome at 9 a.m., a horticultural tour is planned to begin at 9:15 a.m.
Lunch, starting at noon, will feature BBQ chicken. “Stump the Plant Doctors” will take place during lunch.
Bergman explained “Stump the Plant Doctors” will feature weed scientists, plant pathologists and agronomists. “People can ask them questions about anything them,” Bergman said.
Afternoon seminars begin at 1 p.m. The MonDak Showcase social/dinner is scheduled for 5:30-8:30 p.m.
On July 15, coffee and rolls start at 8:30 a.m. at the Williston Research Extension Center’s irrigation site located 23 miles east of Williston on Highway 1804.
An irrigation tour begins at 9 a.m. and lunch is at noon. Topics on the tour will include irrigation management, crop varieties, potato and sugar beet production and alternative irrigation crops.
