The Sidney softball team had its season ended at the Eastern A divisional tournament held in Billings. The Eagles lost a heartbreaker against Billings Central in the first round and then fell by an 8-1 margin to Miles City.
In the opening round, the Eagles scored three runs in the third and fourth innings each before losing by an 8-7 margin.
With Central ahead 2-0, Sidney went ahead in the bottom of the third as Madison Thiessen connected for a two-run homer.
In the fourth, Madison Thiel, Emily Skogen and Jordan Tyler scored for a 6-2 advantage.
After each squad scored a run in the sixth, Central accounted for five runs in the top of the seventh to move ahead 8-7.
Leaders for Sidney included Thiessen with three RBIs and Logan Peterson and Micala Morehouse with two each.
Miles City eliminated the Eagles 8-1 on Friday morning. The Cowgirls scored two runs in the second, third and fourth innings for a 6-0 advantage.
The Eagles scored their only run in the bottom of the seventh when Morehouse scored on a hit by Thiessen.
Having hits for the Eagles were Peterson, Thiessen, Maddison DiFonzo and Tyler.
